ASSESSMENT
Each new
patient is seen for an initial mental health assessment to
determine the diagnosis and the functioning level of the
patient and to develop
a treatment plan with specific objectives. The assessment
generally takes about one hour. The patient is a key
part of providing input in the development of a treatment
plan. All clinical information is protected by way of our
privacy practices, provided in writing to each new patient.
COUNSELING
Depending on the nature and extent of a patient’s mental
health related difficulties, outpatient counseling may be
recommended, and we will be able to identify about how many
outpatient sessions may be necessary to accomplish the
objectives set by the patient and the therapist. Sessions are
generally one hour, and most sessions are covered by the
patient’s behavioral health insurance and/or EAP benefits.
MEDICATION
Medication consultation with our two physicians and clinical
nurse specialist are available based on the patient’s
psychiatric symptoms and level of
functioning. Generally, a combination of medication and
counseling has significant positive outcomes.
